ECL4: QUALITY, Versatile, Emergency, Corrosion Proof, IP65 Luminaire manufactured
and equipped to specification.
The Principal Features of the ECL4 are: -
The Body is manufactured from Grey injection moulded UV
stabilized self extinguishing polycarbonate with 20 mm back and side entry
The Diffuser is manufactured from Clear injection moulded UV
stabilized self extinguishing polycarbonate. Light Control Prisms are
moulded on the inside of the diffuser, leaving the outside perfectly smooth. The
latest advances in technology and materials allow for a reduction in thickness
which thus increases the Luminous Efficiency and also elasticity, and ensuring
improved Luminaire flexibility.
Latches are a regular streamlined shape, and are patented snug fit snap-lock
devices manufactured from polycarbonate, which allows for easy opening of the
diffuser. Once the Latches have been installed, these remain captive to the
body, and also allow for hinging of the diffuser, thereby simplifying
opening and closing of the Luminaire during maintenance.
Gasket is manufactured from urethane and is integral to the body. This forms
an effective dust and moisture proof seal between the body and diffuser.
Geartray is Hot dipped galvanized steel, pre treated and finished in a white
powder coat. The Geartray in turn, is held in place within the body by means of
rotating snap-lock polycarbonate devices.
The ECL4 is Available in Single, and Twin
Lamp Versions. Supplied as standard, is a Body with no holes, and no screws
visible. This proves to be aesthetically pleasing to the eye.
Electrical Knock-out Seals, Metal Suspension Brackets and a
set of suitable Glands, form part of the separate but inclusive Installation
A set of quality Rotor Lock Lampholders forms part of the
Luminaires Standard Equipment.
On Maintained and on Conventional Mains Type Luminaires,
Conventional Control Gear is made up of SABS Approved Chokes, Capacitors, Wire
and Starters. Alternatively the Luminaire can be suitably equipped with
ÉCLATRONIC Electronic Control Gear.
A High Temperature Nylon Terminal Block featuring wire
protection clamp, is included as standard.
Emergency Control Gear for the ECL4 comprises a
suitable quantity of High Temperature 70° C Ni-Cad Cells, or Lead Acid
Batteries, a full range of High Quality, Electronic Inverters, which incorporate
a built in Battery Charging and Monitoring System. The Charge Indicator LED is
securely grommeted to the Geartray, and is clearly visible through the diffuser.
ÉCLAT Inverters are housed in an
extruded Aluminium housing, and in most cases, the Battery Packs are secured
within the Body by means of Pre - Fabricated 1.0 mm Galvanized Steel Battery
The Inverters are suitable for use with any Fluorescent Lamp
from 4 Watt through to 80 Watt, including Compact Fluorescent Lamps.
Guaranteed Light Outputs are offered, Ranging from 20%
through to 100% (Space permitting.)
A Duration Time of up to 3 hours can be selected on the lower
Light Output Options.
As an additional feature, a Self-Diagnostic System (SDS)
can be included (space permitting), which allows for periodic testing of the
Lamp, and Emergency Control Gear.
A full Duration Test is also programmed into the Unit,
allowing for a full discharge of the Battery Pack, after which normal charging
will resume. Any faults found are displayed via a second multi-coloured LED,
which is once again, securely grommeted to the Geartray, and is clearly visible
through the diffuser.
