ÉCLAT 6 EMERGENCY FLUORESCENT LUMINAIRE AND GEARTRAY

INDUSTRIAL BULKHEAD, ECL6 EMERGENCY GEARTRAY; ROBUST, RELIABLE AND EFFECTIVE


The ECL6 EMERGENCY GEARTRAY features pre-punched metalwork, fabricated from 1,0 mm Mild Steel. The Geartray sides are folded to ensure rigidity. This is then pre-treated, and Epoxy Powder Coated, to ensure a long Service Life and Durability. A white Geartray is offered as standard. The Inverter, Battery Packs and Standard Mains Control Gear, are held in place by M5 bright Plated Machine Screws.

The ECL6 EMERGENCY GEARTRAY houses all relevant and required Emergency Control Gear, and is constructed to accommodate a wide range of Emergency and Standard Mains Control Gear Options to suit Customer requirements.
On Maintained and on Conventional Mains Type Luminaires, Conventional Control Gear is made up of SABS Approved Chokes, Capacitors, Wire and Starters.

 

As an additional feature, the ECL6 EMERGENCY GEARTRAY can be equipped with Electronic Control Gear in place of the Conventional Control Gear, for operation under normal mains conditions. This further enhances the ECL6 by allowing for the saving of approximately 30%  of the  energy consumed by conventional Control Gear. This method also produces less heat build-up within the Luminaire, thereby extending the Luminaire and Component service life.


The ECL6 EMERGENCY GEARTRAY features the robust range of ECLAT Inverters (See ECLAT INVERTERS,) which are suitable for all Fluorescent, Halogen and HID Lamps, with Light Outputs Ranging from as low as 10% to and up to 100%.

Time Durations from 0.5 Hour to 3 Hour can be accommodated on the ECL6 EMERGENCY GEARTRAY dependent on the Lamp Type and Wattage in use.

A choice of High Temperature Ni-Cad Cells or Lead Acid Batteries are offered as Standard Equipment.

The Charger (which forms part of the Inverter Circuitry) and Inverter’s Electronic components are mounted within a 1-mm thick Extruded Aluminium housing, which also serves as a Heatsink for dissipation, and for the purpose of mounting onto the ECL6 EMERGENCY GEARTRAY.

The Electronic Control Circuitry of the Inverter ensures optimum Charging Levels, which allows a Full Charge of the relevant Battery Pack to be reached within 24 hours.

The Electronic Control Circuitry also prevents Deep Discharge and Overcharging of the Hermetically Sealed Lead-Acid or Ni-Cad Battery Packs, by monitoring Upper and Lower Voltage Levels of the Battery, and thereby ensuring a long Service Life.
 

The Ni-Cad or Lead Acid Battery Packs are securely held in place by means of Galvanized Steel brackets.

The automatic Changeover to and from Emergency Mode is carried out via an Electronic Circuit within the Inverter.

The ECL6 EMERGENCY GEARTRAY can operate in the Non-Maintained or Maintained Mode, depending on how the ECL6 EMERGENCY GEARTRAY Output Is Wired.

A charge indicating LED also features on the unit.

Connection to the Unswitched Mains 230 V AC Supply is via a 4 way, High Temperature Terminal Block which is well secured to the ECL6 EMERGENCY GEARTRAY, and exits on one side.

All terminal Blocks supplied with the ECL6, are High Temperature Nylon 140°C, featuring wire protection clamp.

 

As an additional feature, the Self-Diagnostic System (See SDS) can be included (space permitting), which allows for Functional Testing of the Lamp, and Emergency Control Gear.
 

A full Duration Test is also programmed into the SDS Unit, allowing for a full discharge of the Battery Pack, after which, normal charging will resume. Any faults found are displayed via a second, multi-coloured LED.

Mounting of the ECL6 EMERGENCY GEARTRAY into the respective Luminaire, is effected by means of four M5 Keyhole Slots on the edges of the Geartray.

 

A pre-formed and pre-punched, Highly Polished, 99% Pure Aluminium Reflector features on the Lamp Side of the Geartray. This improves the Luminous efficiency, and also serves to cradle and secure the respective Compact Fluorescent Lamps.

 

The LUMINAIRE BODY is constructed by means of High Pressure Die Casting, from Grade LM6 Aluminium. The body, coated in chromate, is usually supplied as standard. However, the body can also be Epoxy Powder Coated in a variety of colours upon request.

The LUMINAIRE DIFFUSER is manufactured from High Impact Acrylic. Borosilicate Glass is also offered as Standard. This is held in place by means of 6, Robust Stainless Steel Spring Loaded Clips.

A Silicone Rubber Gasket forms an effective seal between the Diffuser and Luminaire Body, thus preventing the ingress of Water and Dust.

Cable entry into the Luminaire is provided by 20mm Gland Entries on 1 end and optionally on the side of the body.


MOUNTING of the Luminaire is by means of, 4 robust Mild Steel Mounting Brackets.
