ÉCLAT INVERTERS; VALID LAMP, INVERTER AND BATTERY COMBINATIONS 2

The following Section pertains to ÉCLAT Inverters which are specifically designed with Central Battery Systems and External Power Supplies in mind.

The Charging of the Central Battery Bank is usually carried out by means of a large External Battery Charger.

The "F" Type Inverters, can be utilized as Standard Emergency Maintained Inverters. However, in place of the usual Integral Battery Packs, use is made of the External Power Source or Central Battery Bank. This would allow for the Luminaires concerned, to be utilized as Standard Luminaires under normal Conditions, and as Emergency Luminaires under Mains Fail Conditions. The Inverter would be constantly monitoring the Mains Power for failure detection, via its Unswitched Power Connections to the 230V A.C. Supply. In the event of a Power Failure, the Inverter would then switch it's Power Supply to the Central Battery Bank and thereby run the respective Emergency Lamp.

The "A" Type Inverters, can be utilized as Standard Emergency Non-Maintained Inverters. However, in place of the usual Integral Battery Packs, use is made of the External Power Source or Central Battery Bank. This would allow for the Luminaires concerned, to be utilized only as Emergency Luminaires under all Conditions. The Inverters do not have the facility to monitor the Mains Power for failure detection. However by means suitable connection arrangements or via direct connection to the Central Battery Bank or another suitable Power Supply, the Inverter would begin running immediately. Please note that, the "A" Type Inverters currently, cannot be combined with the ÉCLAT SDS Unit.

The Charging of the Lead Acid Battery Pack is carried out by the Integral Charger Unit under Normal Conditions.

The "150P M" Type Inverters, can be utilized as Standard Emergency Maintained Inverters. The usual Integral Battery Packs, serves as a Power Source for the Inverter. This would allow for the Luminaires concerned, to be utilized as Standard Luminaires under normal Conditions, and as Emergency Luminaires under Mains Fail Conditions. The Inverter would be constantly monitoring the Mains Power for failure detection, via its Unswitched Power Connections to the 230V A.C. Supply. In the event of a Power Failure, the Inverter would then switch it's Power Supply to the Battery Pack and thereby run the respective Emergency Lamp(s.)

The "150P NM" Type Inverters, can be utilized as Standard Emergency Non-Maintained Inverters. The usual Integral Battery Packs, serves as a Power Source for the Inverter. This would allow for the Luminaires concerned, to be utilized only as Emergency Luminaires under Mains Fail Conditions. This would allow for the Luminaires concerned, to be utilized as Standard Luminaires under normal Conditions, and as Emergency Luminaires under Mains Fail Conditions. The Inverter would be constantly monitoring the Mains Power for failure detection, via its Unswitched Power Connections to the 230V A.C. Supply. In the event of a Power Failure, the Inverter would then switch it's Power Supply to the Battery Pack and thereby run the respective Emergency Lamp(s.)

The "105Pi" Type Inverters, can be utilized as Standard Emergency Maintained Inverters. The usual Integral Lead Acid Battery Packs, serve as a Power Source for the Inverter. This would allow for the Luminaires concerned, to be utilized as Standard Luminaires under normal Conditions, and as Emergency Luminaires under Mains Fail Conditions. The Inverter would be constantly monitoring the Mains Power for failure detection, via its Unswitched Power Connections to the 230V A.C. Supply. In the event of a Power Failure, the Inverter would then switch it's Power Supply to the Battery Pack and thereby run the respective Emergency Lamp(s.)

Although the "i" Type Inverter is Stated as a 105 Inverter, the Battery Packs are Nominally Rated at 12V D.C. The 105 Inverter PCB is modified to cater for the Additional Power Requirement, by means of Component Value Changes.

The ÉCLAT 105Di Range of Inverters draw a Current of 2 Ampere (2 Amp. Per Hour. i.e. 2Ah.) Time Durations with the above List of Batteries will be in the order of 1 Hour. To increase the Duration to 2 hours, use the ÉCLAT 205Di Range of Inverters, which uses a 4.0 Ah. Battery Pack with the same Number of Cells as stated above. The reason for this is that the 205Di Charging Rate is Twice that of the 105Di.

ÉCLAT INVERTERS; VALID LAMP, INVERTER AND BATTERY COMBINATIONS 2

The following Section pertains to ÉCLAT Inverters designed for use with Mains Voltage High Intensity Discharge Lamps [HID Lamps.]

The Charging of the respective Battery Packs is carried out by the Integral Charger Unit under Normal Conditions.

The "ECLATRONIC" Type Inverters, can be utilized as Standard Emergency Maintained Inverters. The usual Integral Lead Acid Battery Packs, serve as a Power Source for the Inverter. This would allow for the Luminaires concerned, to be utilized as Standard Luminaires under normal Conditions, and as Emergency Luminaires under Mains Fail Conditions. The Inverter would be constantly monitoring the Mains Power for failure detection, via its Unswitched Power Connections to the 230V A.C. Supply. In the event of a Power Failure, the Inverter would then switch it's Power Supply to the Battery Pack and thereby run the respective Emergency Lamp.

In most instances, it is preferred to make use of High Pressure Sodium Lamps and preferably of the Tubular Type. They offer a Yellow Colour Rendering which, in the case of evacuation due to fire, will offer better smoke penetration capabilities, when compared with Metal Halide [Daylight White Colour Rendering,] and Mercury Vapour Lamps [Blue - Green Colour rendering.]

Please also note that in cases where the HID Lamps run very hot, due to high Ambient Temperatures and extreme Operating Conditions, the ECLATRONIC Inverters may take a few seconds to cause an Electrical Arc in the respective Lamps. This is due to the extremely High Pressure build up within the Arc Tube of the Lamp. Where deemed necessary, arrangements would need to be made to cater for this.
